Make Big Things is a 3-person game design cooperative based out of western Massachusetts and Chicago, Illinois. We care about games that feel accessible to new players and ask interesting questions about the world.
We began publishing in 2013 as a design duo, with Hannah Shaffer and Evan Rowland. In 2015, Brian Van Slyke joined the team, and we began the process of organizing as a formal cooperative.
Hannah is an independent game and web designer living in Massachusetts and the lead designer of Questlandia and Damn the Man, Save the Music. She has a deep appreciation for 90s point-and-click adventure games and tea.

Evan is an avid player and creator of both tabletop and computer games. Some longtime digital favorites include Grim Fandango, Planescape Torment, and Beyond Good & Evil. He’s also the resident artist for Make Big Things.

Brian Van Slyke is a game designer, educator, activist, writer, and cooperator. He’s designed several games, launched a few organizations, and eaten his fair share of popcorn. He specializes in history, cooperative economics, social movements, and high-fives.
