I’m excited to announce the completion of Questlandia. The PDF has been delivered to Kickstarter backers, the Kit n’ Caboodle game pieces have arrived, and as of this weekend I’ve approved a proof copy of the game. That means the book will be going to press on Monday. As long as the printer is on schedule, the book should arrive at my doorstep in a week.
The following table is a nice visual of current project progress:
Category | Progress |
---|---|
Game Rules – 100% | ●●●●●●●●●● |
Book Cover – 100% | ●●●●●●●●●● |
Book Art – 100% | ●●●●●●●●●● |
Cartography – 100% | ●●●●●●●●●● |
Book Layout – 100% | ●●●●●●●●●● |
Game Booklets – 8/10/14 | ●●●●●○○○○○ |
Printing – 8/10/14 | ●●●●●●○○○○ |
Kit n’ Caboodles – 8/10/14 | ●●●●●●●●○○ |

As pictured above, the categories that still have some empty bubbles are Game Booklets, Printing, Kit n’ Caboodles, and (naturally) Shipping.
Game booklets (for $35+ backer levels) are about 50% done. There’s about a day of work left until they’re complete and the majority of that work is layout (it’s a challenge to fit everything on two pages). I’m also in the process of pricing out different printing options for the booklets. It would be great to get those printed locally, but it’s a question of cost. Either way, the game booklets will be ready to ship out by the time the books arrive.
Printing, as mentioned above, is moving along. Just waiting on our capable printers to deliver the goods.
I’m really happy with the proof copy. All of the images look sharp, the colors are rich, and the gray borders and text boxes really shine.
Kit n’ Caboodles will also be ready to ship when the books have arrived. We’re still waiting on one additional component that I’d hoped to throw in as a bonus for Kit n’ Caboodle backers. Unfortunately, the box is shipping from Hong Kong and it looks like it may be quite awhile before it arrives. It’s not an essential component and wasn’t mentioned in the Kickstarter rewards, so the box won’t be lacking…but it would have been a nice extra. If it arrives on time, great! Otherwise, I don’t want to delay on getting your games out to you!

Last but not least, the PDF version of the book is now available for purchase. We’re really excited to be working with Humble Bundle for digital fulfillment of the game. Check out the Questlandia page to purchase a copy of the PDF!
Looking forward to fulfilling the rest of the backer rewards!
